Thank you to the Centralia Rent One Team that presented a $5075 Great Expectation check to the Centralia Youth Initiative.
The Centralia Youth Initiative (CYI) is using the recent grant funding to support our after school program at the Centralia Junior High. Plans are already in progress to establish an after school robotics program with the goal of students gaining an interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through the discovery and hands-on learning of a robotics program.
Centralia Junior High School students will learn how to build, program, and operate their robots through a collaborative process under the instruction of a certified science teacher. The end goal would be for the students to present the creation process and final product at the local science fair.
